“ All Speech is vain and empty unless it be accompanied by action” – Demosthenes The art of formal speaking like ELOCUTION helps a child to master the subtle nuances of delivering speech with proper expression and voice modulation. This type of competition not only helps the students to develop better communication skills but it also boosts up their confidence level in terms of their ability to express clearly and fearlessly. Keeping this thought in mind and to develop the oratory skills of the young students, an interhouse ELOCUTION COMPETITION was organized for the young Josephites of the primary section on 22nd July, 2022 in the auditorium of our premises. The competition was divided into two groups. The first group consisted of the students from classes I to II and the second group consisted of the students from classes III to IV. Each house was represented by four participants from all the classes who presented themselves with grace and confidence. The competition began with the invocation of Almighty’s blessings for the success of this competition, which was followed by the introduction of the judges of the day. The young participants performed exceptionally well winning accolades of one and all. “Speech is power : speech is to persuade, to convert ,to compel.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
